Featured at the famous Glastonbury festival in the UK. The giant spider-like creature will be crawling onto Elizabeth Quay on November 23th 2016 for construction. The grand opening will take place on November 25th with international electronic acts. Followed by big names of Australian dance music on November 26th and finishing with home-grown hip-hop and dance line-up for under-18s on November 27th.
It’s built using recycled materials like jet engines, cranes and helicopter fuselages. It includes in-built cannons and shoots fireballs more than 15m into the air! The 360-degree spider stage stands at 20m tall and weighs a whopping 50 tonnes.
The ticketed performance will have shows woven into its mind blowing architecture. A touring team of between 45 and 60 people operate the Spider, using state-of-the-art lighting with hydraulics, pyrotechnics and lasers. The DJ plays music from a booth above the spider dancefloor.
Tickets are due to go on sale in July, so don’t miss out!
