In just a few hours Elizabeth Quay will open its gates for the first time to the public! The team at PRDnationwide have witnessed firsthand the transformation which has occurred at the quay and are very excited to see the day is finally upon us.

For the launch, the MRA in collaboration with Fringe Festival organisers, have made sure all visitors are in for a treat with carnival fun, entertainment and activities suitable for families. There will be plenty of pop up food and beverage operators, including Embargo Bar – a shipping container come two-storey bar/restaurant, complete with rooftop deck. The area will be reminiscent of the 1920s, paying homage to what was once an amazing Fairground on the river’s edge.

The schedule for the grand opening is as follows: 4.00pm: Gates open 4.00pm – 5.30pm: Aboriginal traditional and contemporary performances 4.30pm: BHP Billiton Water Park opens 5.30pm: FRINGE WORLD Fairground entertainment begins / Boat show begins 7.45pm: Official proceedings 8.00pm: Laser Light show

Opening celebrations and Fringe World Fairground will continue until the 21st February. For more details on Fringe World Fairground, visit here.

Please be aware there will be road closures on the day, starting around 6PM so it’s a good idea to use public transport. Both Perth CBD and Esplanade Train Station (soon to be named, Elizabeth Quay Station) are within walking distance to the event. Visit MRA website here for full details on road closures including map.
